Before going on the meditation series journey with Courtney, I would have considered myself "meditation curious" -
I'd heard from so many trusted sources that it is an invaluable tool for managing anxiety, deepening presence and self-awareness, and basically getting through this wild and messy life, but I'd never known how to even go about approaching it. Every time I downloaded an app to try, I would get bored within a few minutes and give up. This experience was nothing like that.
Courtney started with the basics - literally teaching us (reminding us) how to breathe in a way that actually serves our health. She is incredibly knowledgeable and able to explain and demonstrate things in a variety of ways for different kinds of learners, all while keeping us grounded in the purpose behind the practice. She has taught us a wide range of techniques, sharing both the anatomical science behind them and the practical how-to information.
Courtney welcomes whatever we bring with us each day, and reminds us that it is okay to laugh, cry, or fall asleep - basically, to love and care for ourselves, however that may look in a given moment.
Since working with Courtney I've become much more aware of my breath, and I am able to remind myself to utilize it throughout the day, particularly during stressful moments. Most importantly, she has provided a warm and accepting space to be with other women seeking peace and a greater connection to ourselves, each other, and all that's beyond.
Truly, just to be in Courtney's presence is a gift, and I highly recommend it if you have the opportunity.
